Thank goodness you aren't going to the UK. They have these really, really weird laws about which side of the street you drive your car. :-D

Well after carefully studying all the past Fodor's postings I can tell you that actually you can be jailed for any of the following serious offenses:

wearing a pink jogging suit, a baseball cap, or tennis shoes

trying to cash a traveler's check

giving more than a 10% tip to a European waiter

drinking tap water in Italy

taking a picture of a working girl in Amsterdam's red light district

ordering beer instead of wine in Paris

ordering a cappucino after dinner

eating at a MacDonald's

How about odd in-laws?

You should be fine in Chester unless you are Welsh. There is still a law that any Welsh person found within the city walls between sunset and sunrise will be arrested and executed.
I think that in Hereford you are allowed to shoot a Welshman so long as it's with a crossbow and not on a Sunday.

Except for Amsterdam, don't bring marijuana or other controlled substances with you without an Rx.
