October in Rome, Venice, Florence
What type of clothing should we pack for the first two weeks in October?
|
You need to be able to layer clothes because it would probably be cool in the mornings and evenings and can be quite warm during the day (probably in the 70s F). As the day heats up it was nice to be able to peel off a layer.
We were in those cities during that time, and it was lovely. Also, check out places like www.weather.com to get temp averages etc. |
We were in Rome and Venice the first 2 weeks of Oct in 2005. It rained for several days straight, was never very warm, especially in Venice. I'm sure it changes from year to year, tho. In general we did not pack enough warm clothes, so layering is a good idea.

We were in those same cities the last week of October in 2005. We started out in Rome, which was warm, at least 70-75 degees, basically t-shirt weather. Then we went to Florence and it was slightly colder, around 60, and rainy, so we used our light jackets. When we got to Venice, it was significantly cooler and foggy - around the mid-50s.

I was in Venice the 2nd week of October 2007, and had beautiful weather the whole time. 60's and 70's during the day, but much cooler in the mornings. I agree with the layering part. I packed too many long sleeved shirts and ended up wearing the same short sleeved ones over and over.
