Oct. weather in Ireland

We are planning to go to Ireland the last week in October flying into Dublin and going north. Any info on weather would be appreciated. Thanks so much. Perkins

Generally speaking, that part of the country is very windy in October, and rather cold. Expect not to see the sun much, if at all. Bring a lined rain parka, gloves, and lightweight long underwear, and you should be OK.

One thing to note: many of the tourist sites in the North and in the northwest of the Republic close for the season as of October 1. Best to check before making your final plans.
