"Occupied" TV series: On location in Oslo

If you haven't seen the series "Occupied" (available on Netflix), I recommend it. It's an interesting political thriller.

If you have seen it, and know Norway, can you point me to some of the filming locations used in the series?

I'm assuming the changing of the guard scene was filmed at the Akershus fortress in Oslo, and I'm sure I spotted the amazing opera house in the first episode. There is a modern building they seem to use for the government office building that I can't identify -- is it really in Oslo?

I was delighted that the Copenhagen tourism board has links to locations from "Borgen" and "The Killing" and that there seem to be walking tours devoted to those series. I may need to write to Norway to do the same for "Occupied".

I haven't seen it but sure glad I saw your post because I have been searching for something to watch and most of everything just annoys me so I'm going to try this one.

We loved Occupied and Borgen and the Killing. Fun that Copenhagen has walking tours devoted to the series, hope you find similar in Oslo.
Another couple of good Danish ones are: Dicte and Arvingerne.

After a lot of Google-imaging, I've been able to answer my own question about the modern building often featured. It's the HQ of the government-owned oil company, Statoil, which makes perfect sense for the storyline. But poo -- it isn't in Oslo itself, nor anywhere near the airport or the route to the fjords, so no photo op!

But where is Bente's restaurant, or the massive wooden door to the Russian intelligence HQ?

(I don't leave for Norway for another nine months...)

Thanks for this! I haven't been back to Fodors for a while, and I was amazed to see my question with a recent post.

I have new appreciation for the work of set designers.

I'm going to keep looking for exterior locations, too.

I've done that with The Bridge, and Malmö and Copenhagen. It's great fun. In my research process, I found out that the Russians did issue quite a strong statement against Occupied season 1. Season 2 is now underway at NRK.

No luck yet on the locations and I've even gone digging at reddit...

Kongens gate 16 - see StreetView - S1-E2 - Kreativ Flora shop and street name sign at around 15 min.

Checking back in after all this time to say a massive "tusind tak" to dyoll for that address! Thanks a million for that. Another point on the "Occupied" filming locations map marked in.

Anyone watched/watching series 2? I've just jumped in, and it seems to me there is more outdoor filming. I've already seen the Vigelandsparken and the Royal Palace in the first episode.

I'm delighted to know others are enjoying this show, too. And I am really looking forward to Oslo.
