I'm not questioning your memory, nor your truthfulness... but that must have been some piece of writing! I don't think I can remember anything I read over ten years ago (let alone something on the internet), with the exception of a few lines from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet... and even that... is probably because I re-watch it a lot!

I wouldn't need 72 virgins waiting for me in heaven... to become a suicide bomber... if I had an irrevocable promise that the teenaged Olivia Hussey would be mine when I got there.

Rex-- the reason I remembered it so well is because I made a complete arse of myself on my reply. The original post was bashing the French for "not having great Mexican restaurants" etc, etc.....I replied completely livid about the poster's ignorance. Turns out the joke was on me; the post was a joke that had been roaming the Internet, still probably around. Believe me, you do NOT forget the first time you get blasted on this forum. Obviously, I didn't.

When Beach Party came out in the summer of 1963, Annette was a few months shy of 21. I was not yet 10 years old. I don't think I knew what "heartthrob" meant.

Zeffirelli put Olivia on the screen five years later (though I may not have seen it until January or February of 1969 - - either way I was 15; she was 17, even though Juliet is supposedly &quot;a fortnight and odd days&quot; from turning <i><u>14</u></i>, according to dialogue between Nurse and Lady Capulet, in Act I Scene 3).

By contrast, Leonard Whiting, at age 18, was much closer to Romeo's purported age of 17.

While we're taking a trip down memory lane, I wanted to acknowledge the great help from Ed G and his twenj web site. I notice from Sally's old GTG web site that he's been gone since 2001, Wes since 2003. I still search for them when I need good info on Switzerland, Rome, BeneLux, etc.

The earliest post I can find of mine is Nov 16 1999. Pre registration days, I cannot remember all of my names.
