Nuites Blanches
Has anyone attened Nuites Blanche in Paris? Comments? Worth the effort?

Interesting, but very very crowded. Lines to get into many of the places were blocks long. This was in the Marais.
I think it would be quite a "buz" for someone under 40, but if you're older (like me) and want a little more solitude - it might not be for you. We'll be there this year at that time. The preceeding weekend is the annualy Fete du Jardin "open house", which is more our style. Stu Dudley |
The Nuit Blanche is a fantastic experience, depending on whether you find the correct event. Some of them are beyond fabulous and others are so-so, and it's hard to know ahead of time. Hint -- anything in a large monument or church is generally breathtaking.
The next Nuit Blanche will apparently be using all of the major train stations with strange things projected on the façades and on the façades of the buildings facing them. The rest of the program has not really been revealed yet. |
Thanks!
We're mid-50's... I love things that are out of the ordinary but lenghty lines aren't my style either. Are there venues that don't involve that? Fete du Jardin also sounds lovely. The apartment I'm looking at doesn't become available until October 1, though. |
For the Nuit Blanche, there are a certain number of places where you have to wait in line and plenty of other that are out there in the open for all to see.

The line for Victor Hugo's house was blocks long. On some other sites, in & out like kerouac indicated.
