Nuit Blanche Paris 2015
 

The Nuit Blanche has ended again, since everybody knows by now that it is the first Saturday in October. What a lot of people do not know is that it is not at all the same thing as European Museum Night, which takes place in May. No, the museums are not open for the Nuit Blanche, but a few of them might be open if they are housing special artistic installations for the event.

Most of the things to see are outdoors in unusual places, purposely chosen to draw people to parts of the city that they would not normally visit. There is always something at the Hôtel de Ville to appease the mobility-challenged visitors, but the really good stuff is elsewhere. This year, popular consensus seems to have decided that the very best event was in the Parc Martin Luther King on the northern edge of Paris in the 17th arrondissement. The whole park was filled with blue waves of laser beams floating over the heads of the crowd.

So many of you plan your trips a year ahead of time. Please add the Nuit Blanche to your musts, if you come in October!

interesting report -- the Hotel de Ville installation was about as exciting as watching ice melt.

I was there at least once for it, but the ones I wanted to go to were so crowded, you couldn't get near them, anyway, and didn't start until very late so I never did

I was there last year and the weather did not cooperate!

Great to see some of these things, it sounds like amazing fun. But my white nights are not what they used to be, and I don't think I would have made it up even as late as you did.

Didn't love 99% of the work, but loved the experience. Especially enjoyed the churches in the Marais with installations. My home base in the US is Minneapolis, and we do this event there too!
