noway in a nutshell

i arrive in oslo thursday evening - is it worth it to jump on a train that evening to do norway in a nutshell for 3 days? or is the train ride worth the wait for daylight?
thanks

just my opinion Oct 13th, 2002 02:15 PM

your message is completely unintelligible. Norway in a nutshell? South, North? mountains? cities?

Come again?

There is no point on doing Norway in a nutshell in total darkness!! Norway in a nutshell can be done in two days, leaving 1 day for touring Oslo.

Look at this resent thread
http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessages.jsp?fid=2&tid=34371404

(A really great trip for active people is to take the train to Finse, rent a bike and ride to Flam. Then take the high-speed boat to Bergen. But November is way to late. It should be done from late June to September)
You seem to be talking about the night train portion between Oslo-Flam. As I recall the scenic part is limited to the high glacier country on the last quarter of that segment. Nice, but NOT worth sacrificing a day of being actually among the fjords. If in a rush, get over the hump of the country by night and savor fjord country with the added days.
