NOW 3 LADIES...ATHENS TO NAXOS/PAROS
Hi to all. Jip we are now 3 ladies and no longer 4.
Our flights have been book to Athens arriving 31 May 2013 at 12H50. Been contemplating to fly direct from Athens to Naxos or Paros. Departure to Naxos on Olympic Air is at 14H00. Will that be risking it with such a short layover? Any other airline on this route? Paros will do as well as we have not made any accommodation reservations on either of these 2 islands and we can always just switch the itenerary. Reading through many of the postings, it seems that the most logical thing to do is to fly direct to the islands.
Looking forward to your views.

I think you're cutting things very fine with such a short time to transfer. Would you be open to getting the ferry - it's not too long a journey to Paros by ferry (about 3 hours or even shorter on the high speed version) and you can take the metro from the airport to Piraeus with only one changeover. I don't know if there's another airline that flies that route - unless Aegean Air does?

I agree on the "cutting it fine" line of thought.I do not seem to find any flights to either Naxos or Paros for after 14H00.The ferrie is an option, but at this time of year, I do not seem to find a ferrie schedule to these 2 islands. If there is no other airline link to Naxos or Paros,I am prepared to try my luck and make the decision on the day depending on the flight departure time vs the ferrie departure time as well as arrival time on the island but I am not so sure that this is a wise decision as I have others to consider. The arrival time on the island is a major factor to me. Is Easyjet still operational?

Paros has more flights per day than Naxos; might be your answer. This agency http://reservations.airtickets.com/a...=1358274522579 shows an Olympic flight to Paros at 15:45 (3:45 pm), easily make-able, if it has 3 tickets left. And from Paros, on whatever day u choose to leave, there is a noon sailing of a Blue Star vessel, 45 minutes, to Naxos, u can stay on deck & see the arch as you arrive.

Olympic Air is the only airline with flights to either Naxos or Paros. If you can't book the 1545 Paros flight, don't worry — there will be a Blue Star ferry departing Piraeus at 1730, stopping at Paros and then Naxos. Although the summer ferry timetables aren't all out yet, this is a year-round ferry.
