November closures in BO..need alternatives

I've just found out that the Schilthorn in closed in November..I had planned 4 days in Interlaken, but if everything is closed up to the mountains, what is a good alternative??

It has been over 10 years since we were in the BO. When we got to Interlaken, I checked with the TI office; none of the lifts were closed. I don't think all lifts/trains close down at once and are closed for a week or two. If one lift is closed, another mode of transport is available. Some hotels may be closed down, but someone will be open.

I hope this is helpful, so don't change your plans. Someone else may have more current info.

Depends on when you are going. They close the cablecar for maintenance about 4 weeks every November, and a few days in April. This year the closed date is 7 November. The good news is they have a fare sale for a couple weeks before they close. We've found the Lauterbrunnen valley has quite a bit to see, even when the mountain tops are obscured.

I wouldn't say everything is closed, but November is generally a time when a lot of places close to prepare for winter. I think it is also a time when your chance to find clear weather at the top of any mountain is diminished, but that is really a year-round problem. You just have to check daily with the tourist information office and be prepared to go when the weather is good.

If you really want to eat in a revolving restaurant, you could give them a call and see if the restaurant will be open, and how they get people up there.

The Engadin is also nice, but I've not been there in November.
