Note from Sabina in Prague

Excerpted:

"I am fine, thank you for worrying. Unfortunately the city and also others in the country (like Cesky Krumlov, beautiful
Renaissance city in the south) were hit badly. People are great, not panicking and helping each other and the rescuers. Charles
Bridge is fine, but our oldest stone bridge in Pisek from 13th century is demadged. Fortunately, the barrier wall saved the Old
Town although some of the buildings are partially under the water.

It's not fun but I am having some kind of optimism especially when looking how everything is run perfectly."

If anyone needs a personal tour guide for Prague, Sabina is great and inexpensive.

[email protected]
This great to hear - I sent Sabina a quick note but had not heard from her yet. I'm still going to Prague at the end of October (even more so now - so as to contribute to the economy)

The Danube is expected to crest in Budapest this weekend. Go to this live webcam and you can see how high the Danube is:

http://www.irisz.hu/webcam_hun.html

Any onsite posters in Budapest? Is the Danube staying inside its' banks in Hungary?
Suzi, that is still to see. The town is declared to be in emergency alert.

Some virtualtourist.com friends mentioned that they are sandbaggig around the Parliment - Margaret Island may be partially flooded - the roads along the Danube banks have been closed.

You can check the actual water level information on the following (Hungarian) page, unfortunately no pics:

http://www.vituki.hu/hydroinfo/vituki/arvizm.htm

Folyó means river
