Am I the only one who is not concerned about war affecting a trip to Europe?

I'm with you 100%. I'm so tired of reassuring my parents & in-laws and saying "We'll be fine!" This is the way our lives are going to be from now on, either we can sit back and watch our lives pass us by or we can get out there and take advantage of those great travel bargains. I think we are the minority, though!

You're not alone. We leave for Italy this evening and never considered changing our plans.

Keep in mind that, if the war is not over as quickly as most experts think it will be (there are already reports of thousands of Iraqi soldiers buying civilian clothing and making white flags), there could be disruptions in air travel due to civilian aircraft being taken off commercial flights and used to fly supplies, troops, etc. This could cause difficulties for travellers who don't have flexibility in their schedules. Not a high probability scenario, but definitely an important factor for many people.

Good point Mr. Firefly. But...I will still travel. Life is to short to be so afraid. I'll live as long as I am meant to live whether it's at home or on the road. Enjoy.

KatWoman--I didn't say anyone should be afraid. I said that some people, perhaps due to economic reasons or job or family responsibilities, do not have flexibility in their schedules to allow for delays or flight cancellations that might happen. Unless there are specific terrorist threats against commercial aircraft, flying to Europe during the war shouldn't be any riskier than at any other time.
