Not-too-expensive but nice places to eat before seeing WickedI

I'm traveling to London with two of my best friends from college. We're in our mid-twenties, and our spending money for food/travel/sight-seeing is about $100 per day. One night we splurged and bought excellent tickets to see Wicked. We'll be dressed for the theatre and want to find a nicer place to eat dinner in the area that also won't break the bank. Any suggestions?

Check out "The Good Pub Guide"---you can't go wrong. Cheers.

Wicked is right by Victoria station if that helps. There is another thread here about eating near Victoria. You might search "victoria" and "dinner" to find it.

You'll love Wicked! The Wolseley is expensive but check the others on this thread:

I can't advise on restaurants but will give some advice about being dressed up for the theatre. Be prepared for hot temperatures. I don't know about the theatre used for Wicked but I have been in other London theatres and several of them feel like saunas. So, wear something short-sleeved or sleeveless and bring a pashmina or pretty cardigan as a warm-up layer in case you need it at some other time during the evening.

Victoria's a bit of a culinary desert, and although the advice to go to a pub to eat is usually sound, it's not in the case of Victoria.

Victoria is the main station in London for commuters - who will be returning home at the time you want to eat, so all the pubs will be rammed.

I'd go one stop on the Victoria Line to Green Park and eat in Shepherds Market (there are loads of restaurants there and I've yet to have a bad meal)
