Ann, I always enjoyed those random, unexpected conversations with people, (who tried so hard to either speak in English or tolerate my terrible German) when we’ve travelled and obviously been the tourists. The kindness of people and their pleasure that you’re visiting their part of the world is so lovely.

That's me too, Adelaidean. It used to drive DH mad at times but I have met some very interesting people and now as a solo traveller I find it makes journeys go much faster.
