Norway's Easter Holiday

I'm looking to take my wife to Norway for her birthday (which is close to Easter). I'ver read that the cities virtually shut down for "Easter Week." How can I find out exactly when Oslo and Bergen will be on holiday? Also, how can I find out what airlines serve these cities from Heathrow? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Norway's Easter is the same as the UK - ie around 8th April 2007.

As for finding out who flies to Oslo/Bergen from Heathrow try the Heathrow Airport website

BA and SAS fly LHR-OSL. I don't think any fly LHR-BGO.

Norwegian flies STN-OSL and STN-BGO.

Ryanair flies STN-TRF (Torp, which is about 2 hours from Oslo).

Hi

Yes, Easter is an important holiday here in Norway so most things will shut down from Wednesday in Easter week until the following Monday.

Shopping malls and grocery stores will usually be open a few hours on Saturday. Kiosks like 7-11 will be open all days, most bars and restaurants too, though possibly with reduced hours on Friday and Sunday.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 05:21 AM.
