Norway, Sweden, but have to make it to Marseille

Hello my friend and I will be traveling to Bergen Norway this coming June. We would like to spend 5 full days in Norway, primarily Bergen region and the fjords. We're both up for big hikes but are both graduating college and are on a budget. Does anyone have suggestions on a plan or route? We would then be leaving to Stockholm and are open to see as much of Sweden as we can.. Any unusual or esoteric places you might know of do share. We are both videographers but are traveling just to meet people and to explore Scandanvia. We will be arriving in Norway Jun 18th and we have to be in Marseille France by June 28. The best option I have found so far is to fly from Stockholm to Copenhagen. Spend a night in Copenhagen or longer if time and money permits, then leave to Marseille.

Curious of travelers and locals' thoughts. Nothing is set in stone but our dates.

(and yes it's ironic we're traveling to very expensive part of the world as former college students but we re pretty dead set on visiting Scandanvia, I have no doubt I will admire the people and the landscape)

many thanks,
grant

Norwegian Air Shuttle, now the third-largest European budget airline, flies from Oslo to Marseille twice a week (one stop) and to Nice daily (direct). Prices vary widely depending on the date. Buy as far ahead as possible. Similar schedules from Stockholm. https://www.norwegian.com
To check on other budget one-way flights www.skyscanner.net
If you are travelling trans-Atlantic, it will save time and money to fly home from southern France on a multi-destination ticket rather than retreating to Scandinavia for the return trip.

Can't help with flights -but do NOT expect to travel on a low budget in Scandinavia. Look at specific prices for lodging and food before you spend money on tickets to Scandinavia.

Of course, there are ways to spend less rather than more - but budget really isn't an option.

My concern while flying from cities within Scandinavia is luggage fees. From looking at the SAS website, it seems prices include one checked in suitcase, while on Norwegian, fees apply for the first suitcase? Sometimes the cheapest flight isn't necessarily the cheapest when fees are added on.

Could someone clarify this please? Sorry to hijack this thread but it should apply to the op also.

Budget airlines tend to price each service item separately. Some think this is gouging. Others (me) think it allows greater choice: If you can travel with one small bag, why should you subsidize passengers carrying a small trunk? I'm not looking for an argument; it's each to his own. The traditional carriers are moving in this direction. US regulations require a full price statement at the start of the reservation but that still allows for upgrades and other extras to be added on. It's easy to run a test reservation through to the point of payment to see what your particular choices add up to.
