Norway Itinerary - Last Sanity Check
 

OK... here's what I think I've settle on for our trip next month. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Day 1 - Arrive Oslo. Pick up rental car. Maybe a quick stop in the city. Drive to somewhere around 1/2 way between Oslo and Bergen. Any suggestions? Flam? Geilo?

Day 2/3 - Bergen. Stay Skansen Pensjonat.

Day 4/5 - Balestrand. Still trying to find someplace to stay. Seems most places are closed for the season. Any suggestions (or another nearby town to recommend).

Day 6/7 - Geiranger. Stay Villa Utsikten.

Day 8 - Drive back to Oslo. Stay either in Lillehammer area or back in Oslo before noon flight out.

Any suggestions as to other places to stay, restaurants, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend that you stay in Oslo at least one night. it is a small city with many wonderful sights to see.

Thanks... we're definitely leaning on spending the last night in Oslo.

My impression is that the all-weather road to and from Gairanger goes to the north, and you would be coming from the south.
