Norway...Fjords

We are planning a return trip to Norway. This trip will be short...just a week. So we'd like to concentrate on a smaller area of the country...preferably in the area of the fjords.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a great inn/hotel that could serve as our base? Or any suggestions for an area to concentrate on for a restful visit to this beautiful country?

Many thanks!!

www.norwaynutshell.com describes the fabulous fjords near Bergen. Folks rave about the famous Stalheim mountain hotel on the nutshell route. The bus portion of the nutshell loop stops there and it's not far from the fjord at Gudvagen and the boats that scoot round Norway's largest and perhaps most dramatic fjord.
You may even see whales, by Gosh.

Many thanks...I'd been trying to remember the name of the hotel....last time we were in Norway we did Norway-in-a-Nutshell.....and of course the name of the hotel whized outta my head.

Have you been on Norway-in-a-nutshell? The bus portion was really a cork-screw ride from hell...loved it!! People were standing by the side of the road with jaws dropped watching the bus crawl to the clouds.
Thanks!!!
