Northwest 200 /Coleraine info

Has anyone gone to the Northwest 200? We will be in Belfast and want to take the train to Coleraine to watch from Ballysally roundabout or University corner. Have question about distance from station or should we take bus from Belfast instead. If we went to Portrush we can't get back till after race due to train not running. Not wanting to wait then as it will be crazy busy so would leave before and watch end of race from Joey's bar in Ballymoney. Will the race stop the train going and returning to Belfast from Coleraine the day of race? Info plenty on getting from Dublin to race but nothing from Belfast.
Thanks

Not sure about the train, but the roads are a wash out during the race and for up to a week before hand, expect a fair number of major injuries/deaths blocking the roads as well

bilboburger, that is why we aren't driving but taking public transportation. The Ballysally roundabout is a tricky spot and they have to slow down a wee bit there so good for seeing the race. We picked Coleraine because it is the farthest point south of the race. We live near Daytona so have seen the carnage on tracks just not a road course. This will just be easier to see than the Isle of Man TT race. Thanks.

I think we can take that from the city center also. In looking at the sat map the train goes under the road so the race should not cause a problem. If we can get to the University we can hoof it the rest of the way. Bus would take us by Ballymoney also. We should have two options now on getting there. We are doing the game of thrones tour on Sunday as they said it would be crazy to try it on Sat. Do you live in NI?
