Thanks hetismij2 you must have missed the point about bilboburgler (-lar) ;-)

Despite having lived there for a few years, I'm struggling to think of any particularly memorable village in Snowdonia. Portmerion would fall under the classification of "different".
However, if you are not averse to crossing the border, a day in Chester would be a pleasant diversion.
