Northern Spain & Southern France Itinerary

Jump to last reply

Hi! My husband and I, both in our late 20s, plan on traveling to northern Spain/Southern France summer 2016. We will have approx. 2 weeks and have to travel from late june-july. We love great food and wine, beautiful scenery, people watching - not really into art and museums. I have traveled to Europe (never Spain or souther France) as a college student a couple of times and this will be my husbands first time abroad.

I was thinking of flying into Barcelona, staying there for 4 days. Then traveling to San Sebastian and staying there for 4 days also.

However, I am not sure what area of southern France would suit our interest. My husband really wants to go for the wine/vineyards. I was originally thinking Bordeaux, but some forums made me questions that decision.

Please help with suggestions on where to go in southern France and how to get there transportation wise! Also, I plan on doing open jaw tickets. Where would one fly back to the US from in southern France? We are from New Orleans, La.

Thanks in advance for your advice :)
