Northern Italy-late March
Planning a 17 day trip. How are the weather and crowds in Late March-early April in the Cinque Terre (3 days), Dolomites(2 days), and Lake Como (2 days). Plan to do 1 day in Venice and stay several days between Verona and Padua (at agriturismo)for day trips. Will rent a car for a portion of the stay. Will be in the Florence area at Easter-should we avoid the city or is it an experience to be in Florence for Easter.
Any suggestions-we are not city lovers and prefer the countryside. We have been to Florence and Rome on a prior trip. |
We were skiing in Cortina mid-March a few years ago. The weather there was typical spring, high altitude weather. Snowed a couple days, sunny & warm other days. Venice was foggy, damp and cool. Florence (week before Easter) was a crowd nightmare. This was before Ufizzi reservations though. Florence was jammed with tourists and school groups. I would skip it during Easter.
We didn't have any rain, and Rome was warm & sunny. buon viaggio! |
