Northern Italy-August appropriate clothes

My husband and I will be in Erbusco and Follina Italy in August, traveling the country side and staying at nice villas. What is appropriate attire to wear during day and evening? Are jeans/shorts and a nice collared sports shirt too casual for men during the day ? For evenng casual pants and "polo" type of shirt is this okay? Please share your ideas. Thank you

Wear whatever you want, but no way I'd get into jeans in Italy in August - WAY too hot, IMO. When I'm in Italy in hot weather I stick to cotton and linen.

nothing wrong with normal t-shirts either. Why do you think anyone will care?

Jeans aren't very practical for travel, especially in very hot or very cold weather. Other than that, as long as your clothes are neat, clean, and not shabby (e.g., no cutoffs for shorts, no real short shorts, no flip-flops, no "USA #1" or "I'm with Stupid" t-shirts, etc.), dress for the heat and humidity. Of course, you wouldn't wear the shorts to a nice restaurant, or the opera, or some religious sites.
