North Sea Jazz Festival 24
After attending a bunch of short term jazz festivals in the UK in places no one has ever heard of we thought it was time to try for the big one the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam in July. It looks like 3 afternoons/evenings of multi-stadia jazz but has anyone been and what are the tricks of the place?
We aim, either to cycle in or use buses to get to and from our AirB&B within 5km. Are the buses practical as the place empties?

I haven't been in quite some time, 2019 was my last and I bought the multiday ticket, because then I can get into any concert I want, even the plus concerts. As soon as the program schedule becomes available, mark the concerts you want to attend and try to create a feasible schedule for yourself (LOL, been there, tried doing that) Buy your tickets early.
The venue for all concerts is Ahoy, south of the Maas, and there's a good metro connection into town ("proper" Rotterdam, north of the Maas) but also, the Katendrecht area is a good bet. If you want to make it extra Rotterdam-like: the SS Rotterdam cruise ship is now a hotel. Also book your accommodation early. If you want more tips on Rotterdam, I'm happy to provide.
I wouldn't do a an AirBnB outside of Rotterdam. I don't know what you have in mind, but it is sensible to be on the metro line to Zuidplein and Ahoy. Zuid itself is a wasteland for hotels. There are many good options near Nieuwe Binnenweg, in Witte de Withstraat etc. All near the Eendrachtsplein stop. You could opt for a stay in Rhoon or Poortugaal, but those would not be my cup of tea, tbh.
I almost forgot: during NSJ there's "Jazz Around Town", all kinds of concerts and gigs in small venues like Rotown etc.
Buses from Zuidplein? Where are you planning on staying? Alblasserdam?

Then this Thon hotel, next to the Leuvehaven stop on the Metro to Zuidplein could fit the bill https://goo.gl/maps/WF4WfMpptJHDJjha9
For dinner, the Veerhaven area has a number of delicious choices, and you have gorgeous views of Erasmusbrug and "Zuid".
