North or South
I'm leaving on a 10 day cruise on May 21st but will be arriving in Italy on the 15th. Question: Should I fly to Milan and take a few days working myself to Rome or should I fly to Rome and spend a few day exploring the Amalfi Coast? (This is my first trip to Italy). I also have 10 days after the cruise to do whatever.
Thanks, Pat |
I think any really helpful advice might be based on whatever your particular interests are such as museums, churches, food, scenery...but you probably can't go too far wrong no matter where you explore in Italy..although some areas/cities/towns are bettre-known for some of these things than others.
Can you provide a little more info perhaps? |
JonJon:
We're not real museum folks however the "biggies" we will want to see for sure. Food, scenery and the people are at the top of my list. I understand the Amalfi Coast is beautiful but the south is a little bit more hectic. I'm thinking about the hill towns perhaps after the cruise. Your thoughts... Thanks, Pat |
Hi pk,
Please give us some information about your cruise. |
Ira:
The cruise leaves Rome on the 21st of May an goes to Naples, a couple of Greek islands, Malta, Barcelona, Nice and back to Rome on the 31st. We'll spend 10 days after the cruise "exploring" the country as time permits. I know we can't do it all but want to experience Italy and it's people. |
