NORMANDY: great places/activities
Any suggestion for fun places/things to do in Normandy (other than Mont St.Michel,Dday beaches & Bayeux). We'll be staying in Cabourg on the beachfront for 3 days this summer. We plan to drive to Jumieges, Rouen,Beuvron en Auge, Honfleur, Caen. Wondering if there's a certain restaurant or anything fun to include. Thanks.

Deauville and Trouville are fun towns, with a lot of great shopping, and wonderful restaurants. There is a beautiful casino in Trouville and also on Sunday mornings there is a great flea market by there as well. Have fun!

Trouville also has a nice market with lots of oysters and shellfish on display. Visit the charming little town of Touques (pronounced Took as in Luke) not far from Trouville. It has lovely flowers everywhere and half timbered houses. It's small and easy to walk about. Feels homey. Have dinner in the garden at Auberge des Landiers there. See Cancale and the oyster beds. Have dinner at Les Vapeurs in Trouville. Try the Plat du Fruits du Mer. Tour the Normandy cheese and cider producing region--Pont L'Eveque, Breuil en Auge (have lunch there at the Michelin one star--Auberge Dauphin--you can say you've eaten where the Queen eats), St. Germain de Livet with a fairy tale castle and wonderful garden, Crevecouer en Auge with its old Norman castle and odd museum of oil exploration, Cambremer and then Beuvron en Auge. Climb the hill at Etretat and take beautiful pictures of the cliffs. Check out Pont Audemer. Enjoy.

Search under my name for a Honfleur touring route.

Thanks Chatter, Julie,& Ron for your suggestions. I thought Etretat is too far of a jaunt from Cabourg, but I shall research it further. It's good to hear that Deauville & Trouville is actually fun to visit. Thanks for the restaurant recommendations. Any further suggestions?
