Normandy and Paris to Amsterdam
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a decent and affordable place to stay in the Normandy region. I am there mostly to see the D-Day attractions and will be staying two nights.
Also, I'm not sure if flying or taking the train is the most preferred method of getting from Paris to Amsterdam or if it is possible to go directly from Normandy to Amsterdam.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I just bought Thalys tickets online for Amsterdam-Paris for 138E* for the two of us. The direct trip takes just about 4 hrs, city centre to city centre.
You can use this to measure against flight information, which I've never done.
* Smilys fare, 34.5E per person each way, round trip req'd (we're throwing away the return tickets; still cheaper than the 1-way price of 90.5E pp)

Hi Fryster
Train it. Take the TGV from wherever in Normandie back to Paris, then the Thalys from Gare du Nord. You can get amazing fares (see above) if you reserve far in advance & if you get a reasonable upgrade price, go for first class.
Paris<->A'dam is a busy business route so flights aren't so cheap. Air France has hourly departures if you can't afford 4 hours on Thalys. (KLM too.)
