You've received some excellent advice KMan and you won't go wrong with Battlebus. It'll require an overnite in Bayeux (or closeby) to do their "One Day" but you'll have no regrets. I, too, have two uncles buried in the area, and thankfully they're in a beautiful part of the world with wonderful, dedicated folks tending their final resting place. If you can't manage an overnite in the Bayeux area, a self-guided trip is possible with train to Caen/Bayeux and rental car from there; but it'll not leave a lot of time for "wandering' over the course of only 1 day.
