Normandy

we will be in Paris for several days and want to do a one day tour of Normandy....however, we would like to go there by train and do not want to take a pricey tour out of Paris.....does anyone know anything about smaller tours in the Normandy area? And if so, out of whish city/ town?

I don't know about tours. If you don't get the response you want from your post, I would recommend taking the train to Caen and renting a car there. Take a couple of guide books and enjoy your day. Normandy is easy to navigate.

What did you want to see? One day is a very short time to see much in Normandy. If you're talking about Omaha Beach, etc, you can do that in one day. They do have tours from Caen. Have you tried to Google it?

First train to Caen.
See Peace Museum.
Hire driver guide w/car from TIC.
Visit invasion beaches, museums & cemetery.
See Bayeux Tapestry.
Last train from Bayeux.
