normal weather?

I see there are snow showers predicted for this week and the temp is below freezing at night. Is this normal for this time of year? I thought it had been in the 50s. I'm getting worried about the first week in April when I'll be there. Hopefully, the flowers which I thought were out a couple of weeks ago won't freeze.

Where are you going?

If you mean the weather in the UK then yes, February is oftern the coldest month. However, it does get warmer quickly through March and April. It might (OK will) rain in April but temps are not cold.

Almost all the flowers that are out now will die back by April, whatever the weather. And flowers that aren't out yet will be blooming.

Flora and fauna that thrive in the UK (humans included) do so because they're good at adapting to unpredictable, though rarely malign, weather. Living creatures that depend on a narrow, predictable, range of temperatures or humidity don't last long.

Our spring flowers, you'll be pleased to know, are all made of the right stuff.

I've seen snow at Easter.
I have lots of crocus and species daffodils out in my garden and they are poking bravely through the snow.
April is by far the nicest month to visit the UK, the hedges and fruit trees will just be getting into their stride and the birds will be in full song.
Remember the Browning poem?

Peggy, your query is on the General Europe forum, so it could mean just about anywhere. Please specify which country you're talking about.
