NOOOOOO!!

If you happen to be into adventure tourism, how about:

I stand at the top of a 21-metre abyss. The thin beam of light from my head torch barely penetrates the darkness; it is just enough to make out the edge of the cliff and the black nothingness below. I count to three – and step off.

This leap of faith is the climax of Zip Below Xtreme, a new underground adventure near Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia, north Wales.

I wouldn't go on the zipline across Penrhyn quarry, let alone on one into a black hole.
Glad to see the relics of the slate industry are being put to use though.

Adding this to my to do list.

Thanks

A couple more links for you Mark, for if you are in the area - the Penrhyn Quarry zipline http://www.zipworld.co.uk/what-to-ex...orld-velocity/

And the one at Llechwedd http://www.zipworld.co.uk/what-to-ex...p-world-titan/

I did a long zip wire in Wales with the "outward bound team" a few years back, off a tower through a wood with gale force winds blowing at night.

Got off, felt great, we gathered up the gear and walked back to base, enormous crash behind us as the tower fell down.

Beer was called for.

When we were in Zambia, we saw bungee jumping from the bridge below the Victoria Falls. A young African woman told us she was tempted to put up a sign, undercutting them on the price and saying, "No strings attached!"

I agree with Patrick's title--Nooooo way I'd do something like this. I didn't even like reading it.

OMG!!!! No. Not in this lifetime (or EVER)

bilboburgler Mar 15th, 2015 08:51 AM

Did you watch the 70mph face-first zip run which was so boring they had to cut to 100 year old photos of slate miners. Crazy.

anicecupoftea Mar 15th, 2015 09:23 AM

Forget the zip line. Caving and tunnels, a whole day underground? No chance. What I would call torture, not entertainment.

Kids stuff.

Try snorkeling with Tiger sharks.

Proper adventure.

Or deciding how much to tip in New York restaurants.

Even more scary.

Beer was called for.

Beer is always called for - well unless it's spirits or wine (hic)
