nonstop Alitalia from Boston

Hi there, anyone who has taken this flight do they serve dinner? Thank you!

ilovelabs2003 Feb 29th, 2004 06:12 AM

I flew non-stop many years ago on Alitalia from Boston to Milan, and we got two meals, dinner and breakfast. The second time I went to Europe was on a different carrier, but we also got two meals. I know there have been cuts since 9/11, but to my knowledge, meals are still served on transatlantic flights. We are flying on BA from Boston to London to Paris, and we are being served dinner on the first leg and a meal on the connecting flight, according to our itinerary. Check your flight confirmation . . . usually it lists what meals you will be getting!

As a rule of thumb, meals are still served on Transatlantic flights.

Flew JFK to CDG - left at 1815. We were served dinner after we left, and a breakfast type snack right before we landed (0735). Left London at noon, was served a dinner type meal and then another snack before we landed at JFK (1430 EST). I thought the food was decent compared to those nasty peanuts, biscuits, whatever, they serve on shorter domester flights.

Like everybody's said, for the evening flights from N. America to Europe, it's always dinner after takeoff, and breakfast before arrival. It's the same with every airline. Usually, an itinerary will say "dinner" as that's the first meal served enroute.

quetzal, since your itinerary just says "beverage" if I were you I'd call the airline directly and also pack some granola bars!

I just flew non-stop Alitalia Boston to Milan a month ago. My itinerary said "No Meals" and my wife was freaking out about it.
They DID serve meals. Dinner and breakfast. Not bad, either.

Best thing to do is call the airline and ask. UAL's website actually shows the type of meal(s) served for a particular flight. I don't know about Alitalia's or others.
