No. Spain/SW France -Fall 2003 gas prices
As of 9/15 U.S. gas prices are very high which makes me think the prices in (October ) Spain and France will be commensurately high. Does anyone have such info? Thanks!

Gas is always more expensive in Europe than the US. They sell it by the Liter not by the Gallon. After driving in France and spending 60 Euros to fill up the tank I won't complain about prices here.

I don't know that the gas price hikes in the USA will also be reflected in the gas prices in Europe, but gas/fuel in Europe has always been high, so I count on at least $50 per tank of diesel - but it gets me at least a week of driving under normal cirumstances, so it's not that bad.

Prices for gasoline do not vary much at all from region to region in Spain.
Figure in Spain & France it will cost between $3 and $4 a gallon (one gallon = roughly 4 liters).
Gasoline is cheaper in Andorra which is on the border between France & Spain.

The cheapest prices in France are available at supermarkets such as Champion, Leclerc, Casino etc. They are often without an attendant from 12:30 to 2:30 and my experience is that U.S. credit cards do not work as payment in the machines.
