No Parking in Florence?

I presume parking is impossible in Florence. If we are staying in Castellina in Chianti, should we consider taking the bus or are they other choices?

Parking in Florence is perfectly simple - like any other big city - just put your car in a garage. If you mean, free on-street parking - its practically impossible in the center - easier the further out you go. Or, simply ask your hotel to organize parking.,

I agree with nytraveler. Although Florence may not be the easiest of cities, there are plenty of good garages. Just drive around until you see one. They are often small buildings and the car will probably be parked for you since they get as many in as possible!

Piazelle Michelangelo seemed to have a lot of parking available, and a superb view over the city, but its a bit of a walk to the center of the old town, less than a mile, I would guess.

Hi richard,

If you look up Florence at www.multimap.com it will show you the locations of the parking garages.

The no 12 anf no 13 buses go from the Pzza Michaelangelo to the FSMN train station. See
