No more rental scooters in Paris
When the current operating contracts expire at the end of August, there will be no more rental scooters in Paris. Another city comes to its senses. Although, in theory, this alternative mode of transport makes a lot of sense, they're a nuisance and a blight.

This takes effect as of September 1st and concerns only the free floating scooters. Plenty of people have personal scooters that are not affected, and there is still plenty of time for scooter rental places to spring up (although not "free floating").
However, it is certain that usage rules are going to be toughened in the meantime. The minimum age for electric scooters is being changed from 12 to 14, and helmets will almost certainly be mandatory, which is not yet the case. The maximum speed is also sure to be reduced. |
