hi,
I assume that you are talking about the train? If I remember correctly the train takes you to Sorrento and there you get a bus to Positano. The buses are right there where you disembark from the train and they run regularly.

The Metro del Mare (www.metrodelmare.com) is a publicly subsidised service of fast boats which operates in summer. Procida was included in the service, but doesn't seem to be in the present network. There are various boat operators in the area who seem to group themselves in consortia that change from one year to the next. Metro del Mare doesn't actually own any boats, but charters boats from these other operators (Alilauro, Navigazione Libera del Golfo and SNAV). These companies certainly run boats that will allow you to go from Napoli or Salerno to Positano in summer, but I wouldn't rely on any schedules published in advance.

And, schedule or no schedule, boats are cancelled when the water is too choppy, winds too strong. It's a very subjective decision. We've been on a ferry one day in seas that seemed much rougher than the day before when boats were cancelled.

i reason I ask is the artecard includes free local transporation and one free "return"? ride on metro di Mare and the last map I printed out included Positano ...but now as I said does not include it...so much for plans...and as to the weather I will have to have a couple of back up plans..namely B-U-S
