Touché Annhig! We are going in June-the wonderful folks at Scrovegni insisted that there is a left luggage office at the train station. Will check back upon our return and put this mind bending question to rest!

On the Italian-language Tripadvisor site, some recent posts affirm that there's a left-luggage facility in Padova. I have a feeling that it's run by a private company, which is why Trenitalia doesn't acknowledge its existence.

thanks, or2nh4me2. I will try to contain my impatience until then. if you could manage a little TR as well as imparting the more important news about the Paduan luggage storage facilities, so much the better!

Pepper...

Good idea.

Santa Lucia station in Venice definitely does have a left luggage facility.

You could visit Padua as a day trip from either Venice or Verona. It's 26 minutes by train, Venice to Padua, and 42 minutes, Verona to Padua.

>>> I have a feeling that it's run by a private company, which is why Trenitalia doesn't acknowledge its existence.<<<

The left luggage in Rome is not run by Trenitalia (as many aren't anymore) and is on Trenitalia's website. They are managed by ki point.

I'm pretty sure the one I used in Bologna in the fall was also managed by someone else (would have to check receipts).

>>>Does Santa Lucia Station in Venice or Mestre Station have luggage storage?<<<

Yes, both. The old grandistazioni website (and centostazioni site) roll over to newer sites without as much details available yet (except for Termini and a couple of other stations). You can still pull up the info on the old site by Google.

The old site for Mestre:
http://www.grandistazioni.it/cms/v/i...003f16f90aRCRD

The new site for Mestre:

http://www.veneziamestre.it/en/

If you scroll through the list of stores (below the yellow train bar info) and you see a kipoint listed, that is the luggage storage.

The old centostazioni site shows no luggage for Padova (there would be a suitcase icon), but kipoint could have opened one.

http://www.centostazioni.it/cst/Le-s.../Veneto/Padova

I will say I recall a post from a while back with some pics of a luggage storage. I'll see if I can find it. Some stations closed their left luggage facilities, but others have been remodeling so it's hard to say any of the sites are up to date.

If you are stopping at any major train stations before Padova, ask. Find the kipoint in that station and they should be able to tell you. The fees have always been the same at all the stations, but operating hours were different.

Happy to confirm what the Scrovegni people told or2nh4me2: There IS luggage storage at the Padova train station. My wife and I used it last week in a Padua stop- over on our way from Venice to Florence. It was 5 euros per piece for the first 6 hours; I don't recall the rates after that.

Hurray. Thank you so much, Lalm for coming back here to put my mind at rest.

you have truly performed a service to the whole fodorite community.

Bravo!

[and do tell us about what you did in Padua, if you have time at all!]

Hey Lalm: This is much appreciated. I am in Padova and planning to store my luggage there tomorrow!

Nicely done :)

Hello,

can anyone confirm the luggage storage lately? How much is it?

Best

OReilly Oct 24th, 2017 05:10 AM

Yes! I was just there a few weeks ago. There definitely IS luggage storage, but it is only open from 0630-1830 if I remember correctly. It is at the end of track One (with your back to the station, take a right to the end of the platform.

regards Ger

Thank you OReilly, do you know the rates?

Did anyone ever leave his luggage at Santa Lucia?

Hi friends. Your answers were very helpful since i plan to go to Padua on June for a concert i will need a depot to put my luggage in. One of you mentioned that the depot is open from 60:30 to 18:00 and this info confuses me. This means that you can store your luggage during these hours, but you can pick it up whenever you want?! I ask, because i will store it around 17:00 but i need to pick my luggage up around midnight.
Best,
Y

The luggage deposit is a secure room with staff--not lockers. According to these hours, the luggage deposit will be closed at midnight. You would have to retrieve your luggage the next morning.

I would verify if your concert venue has a luggage deposit/checkroom.
