no hotels in Iceland for August?
 

Sooo...have we totally missed the boat or are hotels not yet booking for summer 2018? There seems to be nothing available anywhere. Really really hoping they open bookings after first of year.

It is very common for small hotels to not accept on-line bookings this far ahead. They often haven't set their rates for next year.

If there is a specific place you want to stay -- phone them. Ask if they are truly booked solid?

We booked in February for a September trip last year.
We prefer apartments to hotels; in a couple of places, we couldn't find apartments, but were able to find hotels.

We recently stayed at the SandHotel in Reykjavik and thought it was terrific - well located, clean, new and very pleasant staff. I checked their website and they have availability for next August. Be prepared for your first sticker shock moment of Iceland tourism.
