I'm not sure what you mean by "fresh milk". If you mean non pasteurized, I doubt you'll easily find it. Maybe it's sold in "cremeries", but I'm not convinced.

But if you just mean non UHT, then you find pasteurized milk everywhere.

I had fresh milk in both Paris and Brussels this spring.

Thank you for jogging my memories of my trip to Puerto Rico, where on a day trip I met a vetinarian from Mexico whose work was to visit areas outside the major Mexican cities to guage and promote milk consumption. I had been there about a week and my Spanish was flowing. We had this very technical conversation in Spanish about milk processing and industry standards.

SandyBrit -

Here in the States, the UHT milk is sold in cartons under the name of Parmalat. It comes in whole, 2%, skim in quart sizes and also in the juice-box sizes. In the latter you'll find chocolate; all these smaller sizes are great for childrens lunch boxes.

Parmalat (and I believe I've seen another brand) are often sold in the area where you will find Soy, Rice and others that are better for individuals who have lactade problems. If you have a large supermarket with diverse products, just ask where these cartons can be found.

sandi - Thanks for your answer. I am always amazed at the information people are willing to share on this board. We do have a large supermarket and now that you have explained where to look etc. I will check it out. There are times when I think this UHT product would be very nice to have, like the last time we arrived home from the U.K. and I very much wanted a cup of tea but alas no fresh milk in the house.

To me UHT milk tastes very creamy, so it is OK in coffee but horrible in tea.
