Nine Night Romantic Getaway
 

My husband and I want to take a romantic trip somewhere in southern Europe in late June and, with so many possible destinations, we are hoping the people who use this forum can help us choose where we should go.

We have travelled to Europe a few times over the last decade or so and do love the more rustic feel of southern Europe. We are leaning towards southern France, Italy or Croatia and would like to spend time in a resort-type (european style) hotel with a beautiful pool and grounds near to gorgeous medeival villages and towns and also a short drive from beautiful beaches so we can relax and be able to sightsee and eat good local food.

We have considered southern Sardinia, eastern Sicily (including Taormina and Ortigia), Puglia, Calabria, Dubrovnik, the French and Italian Rivieras, and Corsica.

If you have any other ideas or can recommend places to stay on our list above, please let me know. I would really appreciate any help you can give.
