Your pictures are fabulous -- so crisp and clear. What kind of camera do you use? If your pictures are that wonderful, I can only imagine how great the trip was. The pictures of what I think is Ile St. Louis with all the bare trees on an angle is GREAT!!

Luvparee, I am using a Canon Rebel XTi digital SLR. I bought it less than a year ago and am still learning the ropes; each outing is more successful than the last.
The photo with the trees at an angle and the boy on the scooter with the dog was taken in the gardens of the Palais Royal, if that's the picture you mean.

What street is Cafe Sully on...Sully or Henri 4...I find a Le Sully on Henri 4. Also any food shops in the area you recommend? Or restaurants? Love the pix of Canal St. Martin..I have never been.

Cafe Sully is on the corner of Sully and Blvd. Henri IV. I didn't find any food shops in the immediate neighborhood other than a small convenience store or two. But I went to the big Sunday market at the Bastille. I liked a restaurant on Blvd. Henri IV called l'Ecume, which I tried on Anselm's recommendation. Went there twice.

Great photos, Nikki, thank you so much. We also stayed on rue Mornay and loved the area - convenient to everything but out of the fray. The closest grocery (other than the Mom and Pop shop on Blvd Morland - did you know the proprietor speaks Spanish?) was a few blocks away - Franprix at 16 rue de la Cerisaie to the left off Blvd Henri IV. It is a smaller store but has pretty much all the basics.

Great photos. I'm leaving in less than 2 weeks and hope the spring flowers haven't faded. Can't wait for your report! I see you did the Canal Ride - we are doing it again (my 4th time, I love the feeling of being "away from the hussle") and that you, like I, took photos from the open front of the boat. And, in your report, I hope you give the details of that artist studio. Love the man and the "arch" in the park - no wonder you couldn't stop yourself!!

We're leaving for Paris April 30th - can't wait to see some of the same sights - Your photos are fabulous. In which area was your apartment? We're staying in the Trocadero area. I was surprised to see the blooms on the star magnolias and daffodils so early - hope they're still around when we get there. I was most interested in the photos of the french products - they appeared to be tins - where was that taken? Can't wait for your report.

In addition to the Franprix on rue de la Cerisaie that Seamus mentioned, there is a Monoprix and another Franprix on rue Saint-Antoine between rue Beautreillis and rue Saint-Paul, I think it is. There are also several bakeries and take-out places along rue Saint-Antoine. If you are in that area, explore Village Saint-Paul, the area between quai des Célestins and rue Saint-Antoine ... narrow streets, a few interesting shops, and, of course, more bakeries.

Palette, I'm afraid I have no details about the artist's studio. I just past the lighted storefront atelier and photographed it.

Dolciani, I missed your question about the area. The apartment is in the 4th arrondissement, near the Bastille, about two blocks from the marina where the Canal St. Martin meets the Seine.
