nightlife in the winter?
Hi all! I am looking into traveling to paris, amsterdam, and prague in early to mid December. Since it will be freezing I am wondering what kind of nightlife/ fun these places have to offer when the sun goes down? Any suggestions out there? Also is 10 days to short for this? Thanks everyone!

Isn't winter the theater and concert season..?
and the bars and movies don't close down... Amsterdam has a popular comedy show called Boom Chicago that might be fun. If 10 days includes the going/coming back travel days, then it isn't enough time really, espec. as Prague is quite a distance from the other two. But then again, you can 'sample' and then go back another time... |
okay travelnut..here is another question for you.. I am bringing my friend who is a little "high maintenance". Her interests don't lie much beyond shopping, dancing and well.. shopping. I am interested in the Christmas Markets, theater and well.. shopping... =) Would you say a trip boasting 5 days in paris ( and surrounding) and 5 days in Munich ( and surrounding) satisfy that?

You'd do what you do in a major US city. Concerts, plays, resturants, some museums have late openings at least one or two nights a week.
If by ten days you mean 1+ day travel to Europe, 1 day travel from Europe, and 1.5 days total for the travel between Amsterdam/Paris/Prague - you really only have 6.5 free days for 3 cities. Not long enough in my book . . . . . |
OK - we were posting at the same time.
Sounds like you are pretty flexible. Where are you flying into/out of? |
I am looking to fly into Munich/Frankfurt and fly out of Paris...At least that is where I am finding the cheap tickets.. It is all about the dollar for me unfortunately. Still young and and traveling on a budget. =( Altho- It does make me appreciate my travels. =)

OK - Munich and Paris in 10 days is fine (not quite sure where the Amsterdam/Prague bit came from if you want to fly into Germany and out of Paris)
If you have 10 full days "on the ground" not counting flight days, I'd probably do 4 days Munich and 6 days Paris. But if the total trip is 10 days - then probably 3 days in Munich and 5 in Paris. |
