Nightclubs in Paris
 

My boyfriend and I would like to check out a cool nightclub in Paris, (maybe techno?) Do you know of any?

My daughter brought this club to my attention last month and it sounded pretty interesting. The club is called L'Amnesia and it has four mezzanines that overlook the dance floor. The venue changes and based on this article it is the go-to club of the moment... Have a good time on your trip, Denise

Just to clarify things, there is also a gay bar in the Marais called Amnesia. It's not a dance club though. Pick up a copy of Pariscope or TimeOut at a newsstand for current club listings. The Bastille/Republique area has many of the trendy nightspots but the Marais and St. Germain areas have great nightspots.

Last time I was in Paris The Buddah Bar was the place to go. I only went because my best friend had her wedding reception/party there. I had even more fun at a great place called Petite Yvonne.

Check oput this website. It is pretty accurate on Bars in Dublin so I would say the same for Paris. Individuals rate them so you get a real review.

Time Out Paris has a thorough listing of clubs in Paris.

I am planning on checking out Pulp, Rex and Batofar. I'm not really a techno fan, but if you check out the guide, it will steer you in the right direction.

By the way, when are you going to Paris? Please post back here if you find any places that you like.

Crazy Horse has always been popular..guess it still is............

Crazy Horse - that's a show, not a club...seated audience, does have a bar...I think they're asking about dance clubs, given the 'techno' criteria.

L'Amnesia is the megadisco opened in the Tour Montparnasse (by Johnny Halliday?)..

Hi - try Manray (Johnny Depp's bar/club) - went there with 2 friends in March - technically a restaurant that turns into a club at night. Very wild and fun place. Be prepared to slip the doorman some cash if you don't look like a model (as we did) or you won't gain immmediate access. Also, be prepared for 15E drink prices. Full of fabulous and beautiful people - quite a trip.

Manray, on rue Marbouef is good, however, I've said it many times, to my mind, in Paris, Buddha Bar is IT. One of my old posts:

Buddha Bar-on rue Boissy d'Anglas-you can reach across this narrow little rue and practically touch the American Embassy on the other side. Located at Place de la Concorde, just behind the Hotel Crillon-VERY easy to find. As far as I'm concerned, it's the first and only place to go in Paris-not bad Asian fusion food, the CDs they put out-a house mix of world music-are best sellers around the world-first rate DJs-and the piece de resistance-a 30 foot high golden Buddha presiding over the downstairs restaurant and the upstairs bar area.the world anywhere. Surprisingly friendly and unpretentious. Hard to pull away from there before 3:00am or so-beautiful people (really!) an electric crowd, good drinks-we enjoyed outselves there tremendously.

Also recommended, Man-Ray Bar, on Rue Marboeuf, just off the Champs d'Elysees. Asian motif (most of the hip bars in Paris are now going with the Asian theme) jazz and hip hop, part owned by Johnny Depp and Sean Penn.

You will never see so many beautiful men (really, beautiful people) from around the world anywhere. Not so pretentious either.
