"you can but tickets for almost any train in almost any country at almost any rail station in Europe"
You sure about that? Never needed to do it myself, but have some doubts. Also, at least in Spain last fall, it was significantly more expensive to buy tickets at the station than online. And of course, cheap tickets often sell out. |

You sure about that?> I'm sure that that statement is not accurate at all! What leads one to make such a sweepingly inaccurate statement? Any proof to back up that claim? |
thank you for all the information given...will try to check it out once we reached Europe, that's only one train company or many???
Cheers Jeannie |
At least one train company per country.
If you go read seat61.com you'll find all the info you need. |
Depending on how light or sound of a sleeper you are, you may or may not get much sleep on an overnight train. So I would not plan on doing this too often, or on back-to-back days myself.
|
I sleep quite well on most trains, but I learned not to do back-to-back night trains because I like to shower... Also, you will be essentially homeless for two days instead of one (from time to check out to time to check in).

When young I did endless night trains once - like for a month almost in a row - at that time large stations had showers and some large stations - well not uncommonly still do. But now like thursdayd no more back to back night trains as I so not sleep as well as when a young pup. Some trains like in Germany and Spain even have showers in rooms though those rooms cost a fortune.
the only night train OP can take is between Krakow and Budapest (a good choice vs an all-day journal through forgettable scenery mostly). |
Hi PalenQ, may I know what is OP, coz I realized forget to check with you guys if there is a night train from Krakow to Budapest. A confirmation with you once again, so there's one right. May I know which train?? The reason I'm taking night train is one the transfer is much easier in terms of cost, we just stay near a train station and walk to our accommodation stay. Just looking forward with what you shared. Due to out limited time, we're trying to get some rest during night train and will start to see as many places as we can when we arrive.
Truly happy with all the sharings you guys provide, have a wonderful day... Cheers Jeannie |
