night in Paris?
 

We are from Brasil and we would like to know if anyone out there knows about places to go out at night in Paris. <BR>little help: we are 21 and 19 and we like portishead, Beck and concerts! <BR>Thanks a lot <BR> <BR>gil e joana

when you get to Paris, go to a newstand and buy Pariscope, which is a weekly events magazine. There is a section in English (produced by Time Out) which lists all the parties, night clubs, concerts and "one ofs" for that week. It'll tell you exactly what kind of music each party/club has (techno, rave, trace, etc). Have a great time.

You may find the Bastille area interesting. It is pretty young and filled with clubs, restaurants, etc. <BR>We thought the Latin Quarter was kind of obnoxious -- too touristy, few locals, derivitive bands. We stayed near Bastille and noticed many young French people out at night. Pariscope is a great suggestion. <BR>

I think the Timeout Guides give some <BR>comments and descriptions about places <BR>which are helpful, rather than just listing <BR>places like in Pariscope. For planning ahead, <BR>the Timeout Guides list a lot of information <BR>on their internet WEB site <BR>(www.timeout.com), just go to the <BR>section for Paris, then click on "Eating <BR>and Drinking" and then you can see <BR>their listings for "Bars and Pubs", etc. <BR>I think they may list concerts also in <BR>the "Entertainment" section.

Nova has all the bars, clubs, & concerts listings . . . plus a *kicking* radio station to tune your bedside radio to (Nova-FM).
