Nicest beach closest to St. Remy

If I am staying in St Remy area and want to spend the day seaside...I want a nice sandy beach, short drive, clean water, cute town for dinner/lunch where would I go?

La Grande Motte has a nice sandy beach and is only a 100 km (1 hr 15 min) drive from Saint Rémy.

Furthermore I found this website listing Provence beaches: http://www.web-provence.com/plages/
You can check the mileage to each location on http://www.viamichelin.com

La Grande Motte is a premier seaside resort with a lovely sandy beach is probably the closest to St Remy. I've been there and there are no finer beaches in the area.

If you want to go a bit farther afield you could head to the very popular seaside town of Cassis, which has a good beach. Nearby are extraordinary views of the calanques.

Ah Cassis - one of the most dreamy beaches in Europe - the calanque and fine sandy beach.

Although I found Cassis to be a great little city, I didn't find the beach so special. The Calanques however are spectacular, as well as the small white beaches that can only be reached by (private) boat.
