Nice weather

I went to Nice last week but the weather wasnt that good as I imagined..
i thought it would be sunny all the time
anyone experienced same?

Note that Nice is farther north than Milwaukee Wi. Tomorrow's forecast for Milwaukee is a high of 41 with rain & snow. However, the Mediterranean keeps Nice a little warmer than the Great Lakes does to Milwaukee.

"Imagined" is the operative word here. Even ignoring climate change, weather anywhere in France in April is fickle. Nice isn't the Caribbean.

The weather last week was unusually windy and it has been relatively rainy; last year at the same time it was mostly dry and sunny, and warmer. The sea and barrier mountains do keep things temperate in the winter/spring and warmer than the rest of mainland France but storms do roll in, and of course, as noted, it is pretty far north.

Yup April kind of fickle in Nice - 11 days of rain - avg high 61

Last year we were in Nice, and the warm weather came arrived with us despite the weather forecast. That seems to be our fate, as we prefer cool weather.

We went in late May one year and the weather was glorious!

I wouldn't even trust May weather that far north. If it's nice be happy but if you go in April you have to expect it to be early spring and not mid summer.

There are few places , if any, where you can guarantee good weather: Nice is no exception.

You were just a bit unlucky with last week, especially the two days it rained all day : unusual for Nice as rain often comes in big downpours followed by the sun coming out ( Nice has a higher annual rainfall than London, which is why it is green rather than arid, like Southern Spain).

This winter, Nice had 59 days without any rain, the good spell breaking down just before you arrived, I’m afraid.

I’m just heading out to the beach now ( was there yesterday also). Blue sky and temperatures expected to get to around 18 - 20 degrees C ( mid to high 60s) - sorry!

Beautiful shot :) Brings so many good memories. I went there couple summers back, and mid-July was perfect, even though I expected to be very very hot.

Nice is always a great idea, in any weather.

“Note that Nice is farther north than Milwaukee”

Interesting as I am from just west of Milwaukee and we are having terrible weather this spring.
i’ve been to Nice several times in Sept. and the weather was perfect.
This year I’ll be there in the beginning of Nov. and just hope for sun whatever the temp.

I held off clicking on this link because I hated having to wonder if it was about nice weather or the weather in Nice. Now I know at last. Nice is nice, but for example in recent weeks, the weather has been nicer in Paris than on the Mediterranean coast. It all depends on the time of year.

However, the OP did not express any desire to return to Nice, so why are we still talking about Nice? There are so many other excellent places to go in France.
