Nice village, good restaurant, between Bologna and Florence?

Cao,

Do you know where we could stop for a lunch in between Bologna and Florence (maybe closer to Florence)? Some nice small town or village, not overpriced restaurant?
Would like to aviod having to eat in Barbarino outlet for many reasons;) thats the only place along the way i know that will surely have some restaurants...

Thanks in advance!!!

Two favourites:

if you do the old autostrada, exit at Roncobilaccio and descend to Osteria Nonno Poldo - http://www.nonnopoldo.it/index.php/en/

with both old and new, exit at Barberino and follow indications to Il Paiolo - http://www.ilpaiolo.eu/#_=_

Both offer traditional local food.

Il Paiolo is very special because it is very close to the Mugello race track which is often used for testing by Ferrari and the engineers often go there for dinner - see the photos in the restaurant. But what is really interesting is that the co-owner (husband) is a collector of vintage cars and he has a truly incredible collection.
