Nice - Tram route map? Best way to get around Nice?

Hello..

We have a train from Paris to Nice tomorrow, and I was wondering whats the best way to get around Nice? Our train reaches Nice Ville train station and our rental apartment is close to Nice Port. Any help on how to get around Nice will be great. I see that there are some tram's that run in Nice, but cant find a map for the same. Can someone please post the link to the tram route map.

Also any suggestions on day trips from Nice and best way to do these day trips..may be to Cannes or Monaco? We have a rail europe pass, and we have a few extra days on that pass, which we can use probably for some day trips if possible.

Thanks

I should have mentioned more about the Tram in case you have not used one of these in France. You cannot buy tickets on board. You must buy them from a vending machine on platform for €1, coins only no credit card, or at manned places. I don't remember if there was one at the Nice station. Once on board, you need to validate the ticket using a machine. I thought it was white. I usually end up buying a day pass for €4. The inside city and suburban tickets are the same and gets you to neighboring towns like Villefranche sur Mer, Eze village, etc.

There is a tram station about one short block from the station. Come out of the station and walk to the left. You will come right upon it. Ave. Jean Medicin. There are machines to buy tickets, easy to use and an option for English.

We took daytrips via train to Menton and Monacco. We also did a bus daytrip to St. Paul de Vence while in Nice.
Best pizza with wine in that town-is Tavern Messena located on Rue Messana. We live in Chicago and have been back several times and it is still wonderful-wood oven! Be sure and go to the Russian Church and the Chagall museum along with the old town area.Love Nice!
