Nice or Monaco

Hello there. I will be in Lyon for business for four days in May, then have four more days to travel. We really want to go to Venice for a couple of days to finish trip. We want to go to Nice or Monaco for a day on the way...no time for both. Which place do you recommend to visit for such a short time? Which would be better?? Thanks for your help.

Jim

What is it that you would find interesting?

If it's the casino, mega yachts, and expensive jewelry stores & other shops then I'd say Monaco.

If it's a beach/ocean front promenade, some cafes, and a pleasant French town then Nice is a better bet.

Monte Carlo has a pretty palace and a host of restaurants and shops for the uber wealthy as well as James Bond style casino (nothing like Vegas).

Nice is the second city of France, a history going back to the ancient Greeks and a plethors of things to see and do - including just experiencing it's markets and street life. Definitely a much better choice unless your income rivals Trump.
